Spring Wedding Color Trend 2018

Spring is slowly, but surely on its way. There have been glimpses here and there with 70 degree days in February, but as wedding planners we are always one step ahead of even Mother Nature. Even on the coldest days, we are thinking spring colors and flowers as we prep for wedding season to begin. Blush pink has always been a favorite for spring brides, however I am currently loving lilac. Pantone choose ultraviolet as their 2018 color of the year but that bright pop of purple is not for everyone. I suggest incorporating purple in more subtle shades.

Brides can play up lilac is many ways especially with the variety of spring flowers available at their fingertips including my favorite hyacinth, fritillaria, muscari, and hellebore to name a few.

In addition to incorporating lilac in your centerpieces and bouquets, include your bridal party attire in the color palette. One of my favorite designers for bridesmaids’ dresses in Jenny Yoo. Their lilac shades include “raisin”, “sweet pea”, “lilac”, “cherry blossom”, and “fig”. I love how you can even use several of the purple shades to create a cohesive, yet contemporary look.

When you think spring you also think new growth and the Earth growing green again. Why not celebrate the awakening of spring by pairing green in your wedding color palette? Many brides are embracing greens as lush garlands on farm tables, simple succulents, growing vines on staircases and dripping smilax at every entrance. Green can also be quite show-stopping as attire whether it be an emerald shawl tuxedo, or an olive silk bowtie. The best part is that The Black Tux has many stylish tuxedo and suit rental options. Your best guys can rent suits and neckwear with a modern silhouette that fit your vision and easy to order (so you do not have to worry about the groomsmen!)

I am really looking forward to our spring weddings and the color combinations to come, but I have to say that this is one of my favorites.  It is so fresh and a nice departure from pink (although I will always love pink). What do you think? Could you see yourself incorporating lilac in your wedding design?

Spring Wedding Inspiration with Wedding Paper Divas

Spring is here but it has been a bit shy so I thought I would throw it back to a warmer, more colorful time when Ruffled Blog asked us to create a styled shoot using an invitation suite from Wedding Paper Divas as our inspiration.

Naturally, I assembled a dream team including Christina Lilly Photography, Flora + Fauna, Mary Kate Moon and Dovetail Vintage Rentals and we got to work! Save the Dates and invitations are among the first details that you choose for your wedding and you want to make sure the rest of the design is cohesive and compliments these elements.  Below is the invitation suite that sparked the color palette and details and only strengthened my love for watercolor.

We loved the idea of creating a very vibrant, colorful tablescape and incorporating that gold banner detail in our paper goods.  One of my favorite little details were the little baguettes tied in striped napkins and an overflowing runner of flowers, bud vases and candles making for a cheerful focal point.

The location for this shoot was one of the beautiful parks in the Monmouth County Parks System, Historic Walnford in Allentown, New Jersey.  This venue provided some unique opportunities for portraits of our bride and groom with these pretty backdrops. These photos are some of my favorites!

Although we absolutely love the popular color palette of white, blush and greenery, it sure was fun to create floral arrangements bursting with color.

Mary Kate Moon was able to bring my paper good dreams to life with these sweet chairback sashes, and embellishing these Wedding Paper Divas escort cards with her gorgeous calligraphy.

I think we all fell in love when we stumbled upon this charming gardening shed on the property. If this doesn’t make you feel all those spring feelings, then I don’t know what will!

Flora + Fauna captured the most beautiful video of our shoot. Make sure you check it out!
