A French-inspired Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding- Part Two

Hopefully you have caught Part One of this wedding on my blog, but if you haven’t, make sure you check it out! There are just so many details from this wedding that I had to share with photos from Love & Light Photographs.

Moving on to the reception, Jess and Rob are “party ready” and the room is set. Guests were welcomed into the cocktail hour with delicious food and flowing cocktails. They mingled, ate, drank and listened to music awaiting what they would find upstairs in the reception room.

Guests were invited to their seats with French blue calligraphed escort cards from Design House of Moira with their custom wax seal and gold ink. Classic and elegant.

The reception room was picturesque. Reynolds again outdid themselves with the floral arrangements of blush and white peonies, cascading greenery, garden roses, ranunculus and sweet pea to name a few. We had three variations for the centerpieces. The rounds held gold candelabras from Two of a Kind with trailing flowers and greens  or clear compote pieces with garden-inspired arrangements. The bridal party table was an extra long rectangular table to host their closest friends and their dates. This table had a mix of bud vases, compote, votives and candelabras in various heights. It was absolutely the focal point in the room.

Our paper goods were chosen with care such as the menus and these table numbers, one of my favorite details, to make sure that all elements were beautiful and cohesive with our vision. Victoria is a true artist!

We made sure to make their sweetheart table extra special. Their table featured a lush garland of white and blush flowers lying across the front of their table and down one side. Jess requested a little sparkle so a white on white sequin tablecloth fit the bill. I always think it is a good idea to make your bride and groom chairs stand out. We added pale blue chiffon fabric to the venue’s gold chiavari chairs and finished them with floral accents.

The newlyweds and their guests danced the night away until it was time for the cake cutting and some sweet treats. This cake topper was made especially for the Soaves by Table Setting is My Life. It is made of paper and I love how elegant that white on white is. The cake is classic and created by Carlo’s Bakery. Of course we couldn’t resist a gold cake stand with lots of candlelight.

At the end of the night, we strategically placed one hundred pillar candles to create a romantic glow. Their bridal party gathered around for a sparker exit and to wish the happy couple a happily ever after. If this wedding is an indication, I think they will have a beautiful marriage and a fairytale ending.

In case you haven’t gotten enough of this wedding (we wouldn’t blame you), you can visit part one and part two of the features on Style Me Pretty here and here. Jess- I can not say enough what a pleasure it was to work with you and get to know you during this process! I wish you nothing but the best! xo

A French-inspired Mallard Island Yacht Club Wedding: Part One

There are so many gorgeous images from this wedding that I am going to have to share all of the details in two blog posts because it is just so good. Thank goodness we had Jessa of Love & Light Photographs to capture the prettiness. One of the most exciting aspects of this wedding was that it was chosen as one of Style Me Pretty’s “Best & Most Beautiful Wedding of 2016” and we couldn’t agree more!

When Jess reached out to me to work with her to design her wedding, I fell in love with her excitement for the details and the task of wedding planning. She, herself, had created her own brand of style with her blog Dressed by Jess. We met and talked and originally had thought about going in a different direction by design-wise, she kept coming back to two words to describe her day- “royally romantic”.

All it took was for Jess to see a certain French blue color until it all clicked. We decided to go “royally romantic” with a French twist. Plus Jess and Rob were engaged in Paris (trés romantic) in October 2014 so it made it even more personal. I am so in love with all of the details of this wedding and there are many but I also can not get over how stunning and royal Jess looks in her custom Mark Zunino dress. I will start with some “getting ready photos” with Jess and her girls as well as some gorgeous details that set the tone for this stunning wedding. Let’s also take a moment to admire Jess’s hair by Up & Out and makeup by Make Me Up Eva– flawless!

There are some amazing opportunities to create special moments while getting ready. I love how we decided to incorporate this vintage bust from Dovetail Vintage Rentals to showcase her dress. This dress was a showstopper with an over-the-top skirt that transformed into a party dress when it was time to dance. As I mention, Jess is very stylish and although she fretted over which dress to choose – I know that this one was literally made for her and we wouldn’t expect anything less.

Jess really didn’t miss a detail especially incorporating this heirloom hatbox from Trousseau & Co. and every bride needs a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes!

I love “first looks” especially when they include a fountain of overflowing flowers by Katie at Reynolds, gorgeous architectural details of the Mallard Island Yacht Club and an emotional very soon- to- be newlywed couple. How sweet are these shots!

Another congratulations is in order to Katie because this bouquet was also chosen by Style Me Pretty as “Best Bouquets of 2016“. I love how simple it is with all white flowers of fluffy peonies, spray roses and sweet pea with flowing Frou Frou Chic silk ribbon.

There are so many details to share before we even get the the ceremony. Jess and I made sure to work very closely with Victoria at Design House of Moira to create a breathtaking and cohesive design that incorporate that special shade of French blue, gold accents and an insane crest made just for them.

That’s Darlin’ gifting set the tone for the guests with these lovely welcome gifts with sweet French treats.

Time for the ceremony. Jess and Rob were married at the chapel at Mallard Island surrounded by their family and friends. It was sentimental and I am pretty sure tears were shed.

They are married. Congratulation Jess and Rob! Lavender was scattered as their bridal party yelled “hooray”!

Just one more thing before it is time to party… a quick change! The rooftop was a perfect spot to take her “new” dress for a quick spin with her husband and catch some sunset photos before heading into the reception. I can’t wait to share all of those details tomorrow- stop back!
